The looks of the Oscars were beautiful. Please tune into Fashion Police with Joan Rivers to here the great commentary. My favorite dress of the night would definitely be Rooney Mara. I’m not sure if it was because I love her so much or just because she looked absolutely exquisite. Each look could definitely be identified as simple and chic with a hint of bold. Simple make up is always best when attending the Oscars because of the stature the ceremony can bring to one’s career. I felt that Shailene Woodley looked absolutely gorgeous and so mature for her age. The twenty year old said ” I feel like this dress is so me” to Ryan Secrest when on the red carpet because it was simple and long sleeved. My final favorite look after careful consideration was Michelle Willams, I am not the biggest Williams fan as an actress but I believe her style has grown so much and she looked absolutely divine in her her gown. The pixie hair cut and the pink accent bag was absolutely perfect and placed completely. I wasn’t keen on Gwyneth Paltrow’s cape to her Tom Ford gown, but I did like it with just the dress alone. Joan River’s says ” Vintage is just old shit” when referring to Natalie Portman’s gown but I think she looks great, I Just wish her hair had been a bit more sophisticated for such an occasion.
And now for the wins..
Okay so, for the the whole Meryl Streep win for best leading role for a female actress in The Iron Lady. Yes, I believe Streep deserved the win, let’s be honest she has been exquisite and amazing since Sophie’s choice, but. I’m just really hoping next year will be more rewarding to new and upcoming artist. Rooney Mara was also nominated for Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, and I’m not sure if any of you saw this film, but it was definitely one of the best films to hit a mainstream theatre in a very long time. Not only was the acting exceptional, but also the cinematography and screen play was to die for. I saw it twice in theaters. The film was redone by David Fincher based on the novels by Stieg Larsson. So kudos to Mara for having her first film being so successful. Woody Allen was not even in attendance to the Oscar’s this year, but he did snatch an Oscar for best original screen play in his film Midnight In Paris. For those who did not see this film it was also phenomenal. The acting done by Owen Wilson and Rachel McAdams was magical and had great chemistry which definitely translated to the audience. The art deco film about a young writer and his greetings with some of history’s greatest artist. The Help did not win for film of the year, but Octavia Spencer did when for best female supporting role. She is absolutely amazing and definitely deserved the win. I feel as though Viola Davis is much more mesmerizing, but she believes her time is coming. And last but not least Best Picture went to The Artist which is a silent black and white french film. I have yet not seen this film but am dying to because I love that an artistic film has one an oscar.
Enough with whether or not Angelina’s leg can be followed on twitter now , or that Jennifer Lopez may have had a nipple slip. The Oscars was absolutely amazing this year. So hip hip hooray. And for my last favorite look surprisingly for the biggest bitch on Fashion Police goes to Giuliana Rancic
